FlexOffers is one of the more straightforward networks to join, provided you clear two verification steps that stop a lot of applications dead.
The two verifications
Phone. An SMS code, and it’s mandatory — support can’t skip it for you. Use a number you can actually receive texts on, which sounds obvious until you’ve put in a landline.
Site ownership. Either a meta tag in the head section of your homepage, or an HTML file uploaded unmodified to your server. If you’re on WordPress.com, Wix or Blogger and neither works, their support team will verify manually.
Worth knowing: if you remove the tag or file later, your site un-verifies itself. People do this during redesigns and then wonder why tracking stopped.
How long it takes, and why applications get declined
Two business days or less for a completed and verified application. After five business days with everything verified, it’s fair to chase their support team.
FlexOffers publishes its rejection reasons, which is more than most networks do:
- traffic sources you haven’t proven you own
- sites that are under construction or clearly unfinished
- content that isn’t original
- sites that aren’t live and reachable
- adult content, or anything illegal or against advertiser terms
- URLs containing an advertiser’s brand name or trademark
- applying as a publisher when you’re actually an advertiser
The one that catches genuine sites is the third. A thin site with borrowed content gets declined even if everything else is in order.
Getting paid
FlexOffers runs on net 60, paying in the first week of the month following the sixty-day period.
The threshold isn’t one number, which is where most guides get it wrong. It depends on how you’re paid:
- PayPal, local bank transfer or cheque — $25 minimum
- International ACH — $25 minimum, higher fee
- Wire transfer — $1,000 minimum
So if you’re on wire and waiting, the number to clear is a great deal higher than the one you’ll read elsewhere. There’s also a hold option to accumulate earnings, and an advance service that pays early for a percentage fee.
Scale
FlexOffers claims over 12,000 advertiser programmes and around 75,000 publishers. Their figures, not audited, but they’ve been consistent for years.
Adding a network is easy. Keeping track isn’t.
